Turning waste into value

Waste isn’t a job at Wessuc, it’s a calling. We want to contribute to cleaner, greener, more successful, communities and businesses.

Reuse my waste

Improve your soil.

Wessuc’s biosolids beneficial use programs are unique in the level of service we provide. We work with our clients and growers on a daily basis. Land application managers are continuously searching for eligible fields and working with farmers to create their nutrient management plans.

We beneficially use over 350,000 m3 each year, working with over 150 farmers to spread over 7,800 acres.

A smart plan for plant food.

Nutrient planning is like having a smart plan for plant food. It makes sure plants get exactly what they need when and where it’s needed most without wasting resources or harming nature.

In addition to required approvals, we also provide haulage, conduct soil testing, and take manure samples. We really are a one-stop resource when it comes to land application.

Assess your lagoon.

Understanding your lagoon’s health is crucial for both environmental compliance and agricultural success. Our wastewater lagoon sampling service uses the proper tools to accurately measure sludge depth and get samples to assess the lagoon condition. By mapping and sampling, we get insights into the solids accumulation in your lagoon, enabling you to manage it effectively. Our testing complies with the Nutrient Management Regulations, ensuring your lagoon’s NASM are appropriate for land application. Your lagoon may hold a valuable resource that can enhance soil fertility and promote sustainable farming practices.

Nutrients stored.

Storing nutrients is very important if you plan to use them on agricultural land because the approved time for spreading is only from April 1st to November 30th. Having storage allows us to manage nutrients all year long, instead of just during the spreading season. This is a better option than sending NASM to landfills or paying extra fees for treatment. By storing nutrients, we can ensure that we have enough material ready for when the spreading season starts. This helps protect the environment and supports sustainable farming practices, making it easier to recycle nutrients back into the soil when they are needed most.
